Antics Giant Weta 35cm

The Giant Weta Soft Toy is an adorable plush version of New Zealand’s native weÌ„taÌ„punga.

WÄ“tāpunga is a New Zealands giant wÄ“tā species and the biggest of this type. When fully grown they can even be heavier than a mouse or sparrow.

During the day they usually hide in dead foliage such as the drooping dead fronds of tree ferns, nīkau palms or cabbage trees. At night they leave their resting places to move around in trees or on the ground.

Today they are a threatened species, but they can be found on some of our predator free sanctuarys, like Matiu Somes Island.

This children’s toy includes some of the giant weÌ„taÌ„s recognisable features such as its big body, spiny legs, and curved tusks. It makes a lovely gift for little ones.
