NZ Matariki Stars Double Sided Puzzle 48 Pieces

Matariki is the name of the Pleiades star cluster and the celebration of its first rising in late June or early July.

This marks the beginning of the new year in the Māori lunar calendar.

When Matariki rises, it calls us to cluster together, to celebrate our world, our people and our home,

by remembering our loved ones, celebrating who we are today, and who we hope to be in the future.

This double-sided 48 piece puzzle shows the 9 stars of Matariki on one side and the other side features a kiwi looking up at the Matariki stars from a peaceful lake.

Children will learn about the Matariki stars while improving their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

These unique designs were created by New Zealand Māori illustrator Isobel Te Aho-White. Isobel expresses herself and her heritage through a variety of artistic mediums both digital and traditional. She is a descendant of Ngai Tahu and Ngati Kahungungu ki te Wairoa.
