Jo Luping Design - Rewarewa 10cm Porcelain Bowl
Iconic New Zealand Images adorn these Porcelain Bowls from Jo Luping.
Jo is interested in the medicinal properties of plants, especially as they have been used by indigenous peoples around the world. In this series she is exploring Maori use of plants endemic to New Zealand.
This porcelain bowl features a drawing of a Rewarewa which is the Maori name for New Zealand Honeysuckle.
Medicinally it has been traditionally used as a bandage and to stem bloodflow.
The honey produced from the tree is said to have a rich caramel-like taste.
Made from white porcelain, inside semi-gloss clear glaze with decal and unglazed outside.
Each piece comes boxed with an image of the design on the lid.
These make great gifts for many occasions.
The bowls feature irregularities in both shape and form; this is part of the organic nature of the collection.
Certified food safe, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Size: 10cm diameter x 2.8cm high
Collect them to make a set.
They look amazing on platters! Or on a dresser for those precious gathered items.
