This design features the artistic Mallow Flowers, a design by Allan Francis Vigers (1858-1921), one of the leading lights in the Arts & Crafts movement.

The Arts and Crafts Movement began in Britain in the mid 19th Century.

It used traditional craftsmanship using simple forms, Romantic, medieval and folk decoration was a common theme – all of which used flora and fauna as part of its imagery.
