Chinese Magpie adapted excerpt from a wallpaper design is reproduced on this beautiful card from the Victoria & Albert range of  Museums & Galleries

Featuring magpies (but not as we know them!) perched in branches with blossom flowers on a white background, alternately originally also with a black background.

Taking inspiration from Chinese designs, this was created by William Lakin Turner (1867-1936) England, 1913.

Turner was an English landscape painter most renowned for his oils on canvas of scenes from the Scottish highlands and the Lake District in England.

He was among the group who founded the Lake Artists Society in 1904.
