What are head lice?

Head lice are bloodsucking parasites without wings, that feed on human blood. Head lice and lice-eggs prefer warm and dark places on the scalp. Therefore, they are often found behind the ears, along the hairline and in the neck.

The colour of the lice can vary from sandy-coloured to nearly black. After they have fed on blood they become dark red.

The life cycle has three stages: eggs, nymphs and adults. The female louse attaches the eggs to the hair with a kind of glue, no more than 1mm from the scalp. The eggs take 7 to 10 days to hatch. The development from nymph to lice takes approximately 7 days. The adult female lice can then lay up to 10 eggs per day.

How does Licener Work?

The active ingredient in Licener is the natural Neem-extract formulation. The Neem extract covers, immobilises and suffocates lice. It also breaks down the protective shell of eggs and penetrates tiny openings, aeropyles, blocking the oxygen flow which causes eggs (nits) to suffocate. In this way Licener eliminates both the lice and nits in a single 10 minute treatment.

How to use Licener

STEP 1: Apply Licener shampoo to dry hair. 

• Remove the blue cap from the bottle and part the hair.
• Squeeze the bottle to apply the shampoo. Cover the scalp and all the hair with sufficient shampoo.
• It is recommended to use one bottle of Licener per person (depending on the length of hair).
• Massage Licener shampoo well into the hair to cover all hair from the scalp to the tips and then leave it in for 10 minutes.
• If a number of family members have head lice you should try to treat them all on the same day with Licener in order to prevent new infestations.

STEP 2: Rinse out the Licener shampoo.

• Rinse the shampoo from the hair thoroughly using lukewarm water.
• Avoid getting shampoo in the eyes, as like all other shampoo this can lead to irritation of the eyes.
• It is not necessary to wash the hair with a normal shampoo after treatment with Licener. I
