Chic yet Classic Design in William Morris Strawberry Thief Pattern in red.
Strawberry Thief is one of William Morris' most popular repeating designs for textiles.
It takes as its subject the thrushes that Morris found stealing fruit in the kitchen garden of his countryside home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire.
This scarf features a soft silk-like texture, breathability, & an ability to drape beautifully.
William Morris viewed his patterns as both an art form and a means of social commentary.
In response to the industrial designs and manufacturing of the Machine Age, he created wallpapers and fabrics that boasted natural floral motifs and handmade craftmanship.
His work and ideology were a leading inspiration for the Arts and Crafts movement.
