August from Les Mois Eugene Grasset (1845-1917) made in France 1896, is reproduced on this beautiful card from the Victoria & Albert range from Museums & Galleries

'Les Mois' (The Months) was a set of twelve plates of wood engraving and colour litho-engraving, originally published as a calendar for 'La Belle Jardiniere'.

Each was signed with artist's monogram.

Considered a pioneer of art nouveau design, Eugene Samuel Grassat was a Swiss born artist & designer who transformed the natural world into beautiful images.
