MANICARE® SALON MAGNIFYING PORE VACUUM FAQ’S

Achieve maximum results with your Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum.

What is the recommended age to start using the Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum?
The recommended age is 16 years old or above; always seek Health Care professional advice if you have any questions.

How often can you use the Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum?
The recommended use is 1-2 times per week.

How should you prepare the skin to assist with extraction?
Cleanse and either have a steamy shower or steam bath to help loosen impurities within the pores.

Are Pore Vacuums safe to use?
Pore vacuums are generally safe to use but be sure to use appropriate settings depending on your skin. Some underlying skin conditions may be exacerbated by the suction of the vacuum, and it is possible to see side effects such as bruising and broken capillaries.

Is the Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum safe for long term use?
Yes, as long as you keep to the recommended usage between 1-2 times per week. We also recommend having a discussion with your healthcare professional if you have long-term skin concerns.

Are there any risks to consider?
The use of the proper amount of suction for your skin type is of critical importance. Bruising can result from too much suction. Too much suction can also result in telangiectasias. Telangiectasias, also known as spider veins, are characterised by small, broken, or dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. If you experience pain, stop using the tool immediately.

How do you treat bruising/prolonged redness of the skin?
Apply a cold compress to help with the redness. Use a hydrating moisturiser to help calm the skin. Seek further Health Care professional advice if symptoms persist.

Is there anyone who should not use the device?
Please seek advice from a healthcare professional prior to use if you are suffering from or susceptible to any of the following conditions;
- Skin allergies
- Sunburn
- Opened wounds
- Itchy skin or skin prone to irritation
- Severe acne or active breakouts

Also, use of this device is not recommended if you have circulation issues or are taking blood thinners. If you are prone to bruising, use of this device could cause facial bruising or rupture a blood vessel. You should consult your healthcare professionals before picking up one of these tools, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.

Can I apply make up after using the Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum?
We recommend conducting extraction in the evening to allow the skin to rest before applying make up the following day.

What to do After Extraction?
Avoid direct sun exposure / extreme heat for 3 days.
Do not use scrubs or other exfoliators for 3 days.
Apply serums and moisturizers.
Use a sunscreen over SPF 30+.

How do I clean the Manicare® Magnifying Pore Vacuum?
Thoroughly wash all the used nozzles with warm water.
Do not wash the handset. Wipe over with a damp cloth and leave to dry after each use.
Store handset and nozzles in the protective original packaging provided.

What are blackheads?
Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of hair follicles in your skin. Each follicle contains one hair and a sebaceous gland that produces oil. This oil, called sebum, helps keep your skin soft. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a bump called a comedone. If the skin over the bump stays closed, the bump is called a whitehead. When the skin over the bump opens, exposure to the air causes it to look black and a blackhead forms.

What are symptoms of blackheads?
Because of their dark colour, blackheads are easy to spot on the skin. They are slightly raised, although they are not painful because they aren’t inflamed like pimples. Pimples form when bacteria invade the blockage in the hair follicle, causing redness and inflammation.
